Why we invested in nuwacom

We’re excited to announce partnering with nuwacom as lead investor in their seed round. Based in Germany and Luxembourg, nuwacom is on a mission to help European enterprises effectively harness the power of GenAI.


There is momentum in the market — but ways of working in enterprises have not yet changed

While the public rise of GenAI in 2022 has opened up endless new possibilities in content generation, the daily way of working in enterprise teams often has not changed materially. Many of our reference calls confirmed: information is still siloed, teams do not have one unified platform to create content, and the use of AI agents to automate workflows is more an aspiration than a reality in most teams. A lot of potential to create quicker and better content is simply not realized at this point. There is a gap between the potential of using AI (like the magic many of us experience when using it in small organizations or privately) and the reality that prevails in enterprises today.

This is because current products, like the LLMs’ own applications, simply aren’t built for enterprise needs. Employers often prohibit the usage of LLM apps due to concerns over the security of sensitive company data. Content is more often than not generic and not tailored to the particular communication style of the organization. Current products are more a separate tool or an unused co-pilot than a truly unified workspace to collaborate with team members. Building tools internally is also rarely an option for enterprises, as they cannot keep up with the speed of market developments, and they risk already being outdated upon launch. The result is frustration and fear of falling behind in the implementation of GenAI into workflows.

We strongly believe we have found exactly that in the founders of nuwacom, who all have long-standing entrepreneurial experience, have worked together in the past, and demonstrate an impressive speed in both shipping well-planned product features and executing on their go-to-market strategy.

It only took us a short product demo to understand why nuwacom’s platform can cut through the noise: this is something most enterprises do not yet have — perhaps do not even know they need — but which will benefit them substantially in creating content and collaborating across teams going forward. A product that combines sophisticated agentic workflow optimization with an extremely simple user interface, which allows users who have never even opened ChatGPT in their life to engage with GenAI and become quicker and better in their daily work.

In a few years, the gap between expectations about the potential of GenAI and the actual reality in enterprises will be closed. Employees will not even remember a world without utilizing GenAI in their daily workflows. We are convinced that nuwacom will play an integral role in closing this gap in Europe, and we are excited to support them on this mission.
