At the beginning of 2026, we finalized our investment in Agileday. We’re excited and proud to be leading their Series A round, alongside Specialist VC and existing investors Vendep Capital and Business Finland. Based in Espoo, Finland, Agileday is on a mission to reshape the way professional services firms operate.
The quest for a single source of truth
For a professional services firm like an IT consultancy, people are the main ‘resource’. That has been the case for decades. And although the way professional services are delivered is changing (more on that later), it will remain a people-driven business going forward. But looking under the hood of such a firm, it is surprising to what extent chaos reigns: shared spreadsheets and slide decks, a heap of legacy point solutions for time reporting, staffing, and talent management, homegrown software that is outdated and expensive to maintain. The result is a COO’s nightmare. A lack of visibility into who is in the organization, who is available, with which skillsets, what projects they’ve done, what’s coming up, and how to best optimize the firm’s most valuable resource: its people. In our research, one thing became clear: professional services firms are craving a single source of truth. And while there are software tools promising to deliver exactly that, they have evidently failed to do so convincingly.
Professional services are changing
On top of those operational headaches, the landscape of professional services is shifting, and leaders need to adapt. Headlines like “the death of the billable hour” have been circulating for months. Workforces are becoming increasingly hybrid, with work divided between human consultants and autonomous AI agents. Customers expect different delivery models, adapted timelines, and lower costs. Consultants need to become ever more multidisciplinary and re-skill for the age of AI.
The economic climate is also screaming for efficiency, cutting spending on expensive transformation projects, and we’re seeing consolidation across the IT consulting space. All in all: professional services firms need to reinvent themselves, adapt to the new age of AI, and navigate a challenging economic climate that demands they operate at maximum efficiency (because their competitors will) — and all of that while running on a shaky foundation of shared spreadsheets and outdated point solutions.
This is where Agileday comes in. They’ve built an AI-first operating platform for professional services firms. People-first, optimized for a hybrid workforce, unifying point solutions into a single source of truth. Through Agileday, leaders of professional services firms get a tool that helps them reinvent themselves. One that evolves alongside a changing landscape, and learns from its own data over time to support better, more informed decisions about future projects. And in all of our customer reference calls, we have received nothing but praise for the product quality and innovation speed of Agileday.
A team that could not be more qualified to navigate this complexity
VC investors love few things more than a team with deep domain expertise. Leaders who have lived the daily inefficiencies of their industry, got fed up, and decided to build something to fix it. That is exactly what we found with the founders of Agileday. They’ve worked inside multinational IT consulting firms, led global projects, and scaled organizations to hundreds of employees. They’ve known each other for years and share a deep mutual trust, not only between each other, but also the trust of C-level executives at consulting firms. Because they’ve been in their shoes. Because they speak their language. Because they’ve gone through the pain themselves.
We couldn’t be more excited to back the team that will transform this industry and help professional services firms elevate themselves to the next level. In the age of AI.
