Leipzig, Germany - 08.07.2026 Birdsview today announced a €2.5 million seed round to scale Avys, anAI Agent that runs an online retailer's messaging channels end to end - thework that normally requires an in-house team or an outside agency. The round isled by Fortino Ventures, the firm behind Billy Grace, one of thefastest-growing AI infrastructure platforms for digital marketeers in theBenelux and Newion, an early backer of Parloa, now a billion-dollar AI agentcompany. Backed initially by TGFS in its pre-seed phase, the company hassuccessfully secured further international support.
Retailers depend on repeat purchases, anddirect messaging channels like email remain the most reliable channel forbringing customers back. But while customer acquisition costs have risen 222%in eight years, the software most retailers rely on for retention hasn'tfundamentally changed. It still leaves the actual work to a person.
Traditional email software provides thetools but leaves the work to the user; someone must still segment customers, establish delivery rules, and craft the actual message content. This getsincreasingly complicated with growing product catalogs. So many retailers hirean agency to run it, typically at three to five times the price of the softwarelicense. They pay twice: once for the tool, once for the people to make ituseful. And even with a full agency team, the math caps out at managingcustomer segments. Nobody is writing to each customer individually - therearen't enough hours.
Birdsview argues the problem persists bydesign. Agencies are the incumbents' largest sales channel - by the company'sestimate, roughly 40% of revenue. A vendor that automated the agency away wouldbe dismantling its own distribution, which is why, in Birdsview's view, thecompanies selling the tooling have little incentive to change it.
Avys is built to do that work itself. Itreads a retailer's catalog the way an experienced marketer would, decides whatto say to each customer and when, and writes an individual email in the brand'svoice - addressing customers one at a time rather than in broad segments.
What Birdsview considers difficult tocopy is the layer beneath the agentic decisions. Rather than treating a productas a name and a price, Avys models how each item relates to the rest of thecatalog, what need it satisfies, which angle sells it, and how soon a customeris likely to need it again. The company built this product-intelligence layeralongside its first hundred customers and says it now spans 1.2 million labeledproducts across 60 industries, learning from 52 million email interactions a month.Birdsview's position is that the data can't simply be bought, and grows morevaluable with every customer added.
Birdsview reports that brands using Avyssee 3x more clicks and 8x more revenue per email. And well established marketleaders in retail have replaced both their email tool and their agency with it.
"Avys isn't a better tool - it's theworker. We started Birdsview after running a CRM agency ourselves, the exactbusiness model Avys is built to make obsolete. We lived inside this problem foryears, and now we're ending it. The future of CRM isn't better tooling forhumans to work faster - it's an agent that does the work."
“Birdsview’s agentic solution empowersretailers with a revenue generator on auto-pilot - making legacy SaaS andagency services redundant. I am excited to be partnering with Ozan and Tim asthey disrupt the $56Bn retention SaaS and services market.”
“Most online retailers are still leavingsignificant value untapped by relying on static, rule-based systems forcustomer communication. Birdsview helps unlock this potential by extractingmore value from the existing customer base, and it is impressive how quickly itcan demonstrate ROI. Retailers often see measurable uplift within days toweeks, as even small improvements in repeat purchase rates or reactivation ofdormant customers compound rapidly across the entire customer base.”
Birdsview builds Avys, an AI system thatruns e-commerce retention messaging end to end, handling work that hastraditionally required both CRM software and the agency that operates it. Avysdraws on a proprietary product-intelligence layer to write an individual emailto each customer in the brand's voice. Birdsview is headquartered in Leipzig,Germany. The company was founded by data scientists Tim Kuesters and OzanBrochwitz-Tuerker. More at birdsview.com.
